I enjoyed the expanse and layout of the restaurant (a fancy rendition of how things used to be), the food, the view, and the service. The view out toward the marina area was indeed one of the highlights of the trip. Especially good were our deserts, one an absolutely delicious fried apple pie alamode, and the other a towering banana pudding prepared in a most unique way. My wife enjoyed oysters, a wedge salad and shrimp and grits. I ordered the herb crusted yellow fin tuna along with Hoppin John as my side. He did an excellent job and guided us through all the nuances of the menu. We had an excellent waiter, a young man whose name I believe was Dylan, a transplant from Illinois whose family had earlier settled in the area. This was an ideal crowd-avoiding time, and I suggest you try lunchtime earlier in the week if at all possible. In order to beat any possible crowds, my wife and I went for lunch on a Monday (this one following Mother's Day) at 11:00 a.m. Cobalt is an experience just as much as it is a restaurant.
